Microsoft engaged us to train, enable and educate their SMB Reseller Channel about the Windows 7 and Office 2010 end of support (EOS) opportunity. This awareness and lead generation campaign was promoted out to the channel via Microsoft’s Indirect Cloud Service Providers and aimed to drive urgency around moving end customers to the cloud and modern windows devices.

The Problem

Microsoft’s SMB Reseller channel is made up of thousands of resellers who procure and supply technology solutions and services on behalf of hundreds of thousands of customers around Australia. Many resellers are still learning about how to build a cloud practise and many were unaware of the pending EOS deadlines. By not actioning both Microsoft and the incumbent reseller were at the risk of losing customers to an alternative cloud technology or other Microsoft cloud proficient provider.

Our Solution

Windows 7 and Office 2010 EOS provided a great opportunity for resellers to build out their cloud practise and accelerate their customer’s adoption of the latest technology. Our strategy was to create awareness via a short 3 minute video introduction, accompanied with rewards for completing a 5 question knowledge quiz. With the opportunity now more apparent, resellers were then invited to attend an interactive live webinar where they could learn how to start a dialogue with their customers plus gain access to valuable marketing assets to support their own end customer demand generation tactics. This included online research, customer profiling and telemarketing.

The design

The overarching Get Modern Desktop Savvy campaign design was built based on educating and enabling resellers on a new opportunity presented by EOS. This multi-channel marketing included edm, web, video and social media.v

The results

Working with 7 Microsoft’s Indirect Cloud Service Providers, we were able to successfully amplify the End of Support message out to over 10,000 Australian resellers. Driving greater awareness and demand for cloud and modern windows devices. Resulting in more secure, productive and competitive businesses in the Australian marketplace.
